A New Fall Collection for Halloween and Beyond

Seasonal decorating does not always have to be literal.

I say this as someone who loves the spooky, enchanted, magical side of Halloween, but also as someone who has definitely left Halloween decorations up until it was time to decorate for Christmas. Partly because I love the mood, and partly because, well, time is slippery.

The traditional Halloween look can be fun, but it is also very time sensitive. Pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons, and haunted houses all have their place, but once October is over, they can start to feel a little expired.

As I sat with my open sketchbook working on ideas for this year's Halloween collections, I knew I wanted to create something with that dark, magical feeling, but with a little more flexibility because in addition to my own decorating habits, I've also noticed that a growing number of customers come back all year for designs that lean in this direction.

That is how I settled on the direction for my latest Luna Moth collection.

A Witchy Botanical Approach to Fall

I created the Harvest color way of my Luna Moth collection specifically for decorators and makers who want the feeling of spooky season without being locked into the usual Halloween icons.

Instead of pumpkins and ghosts, this collection uses luna moths, moon phases, thistles, leafy botanicals, gingham, trailing florals, and earthy autumn colors.

It still has that October feeling, more livable way.

Dark, moody, and earthy, but not novelty. Seasonal, but not stuck in one month.

The Collection

The hero design is the main statement piece, with luna moths, moon phases, flowers, thistles, and leafy botanical details on a charcoal black background. One pattern can set the mood, but the supporting designs make the collection easier to use for a full room, sewing project, or seasonal home refresh.

How I’d Use It

The hero design (available in both full and limited color versions) would work beautifully as wallpaper in a bedroom, bathroom, reading nook, entryway, or home office.

The coordinating designs could be used for:

pillows
curtains
napkins
table runners
bedding accents
quilts
bags
smaller sewing projects

Pair the harvest colorway with candlelight, brass accents, warm wood, dried flowers, amber glass, velvet, woven textures, or even Thanksgiving table linens, and the mood shifts from Halloween to autumn without needing a full reset.

Which is helpful if you're like me and occasionally realize the Christmas bins are coming out before the Halloween bins ever made it back to storage.

An Enchanting Midnight Colorway

I’ve also created a midnight colorway of the Luna Moth collection that leans less harvest and more moonlit fairy garden, with a more ethereal enchanted cottage vibe that works year round.
